Today I’m Struggling With…Strollers: Keenz Stroller Wagon Review

Having a second child opened up a world of unknowns. Challenges we thought we had mastered as parents were new again, and we once again remembered how hard it was to do the simplest things. One of the first things we knew we would need was a double stroller. Our kids are three years apart, and while H can definitely walk for long stretches, we know that sometimes we would rather have him contained. We bought a Baby Trend Sit N Stand Ultra, and were pretty happy with it.

If you’re not new to the blog, you also know that we go to Disneyland a lot, and on one of our first trips with two kids, we saw a family with a Keenz Stroller Wagon. Curious, we looked it up and found that it was, as the name would suggest, a hybrid between a stroller and wagon. However, since we already had a double stroller, it seemed redundant, and we (stupidly) waited many months before coming back around and making a purchase that would end up being a total game-changer.

Check out the quick facts below and see why I think this one is a must-have.

Product: Keenz Stroller Wagon, available here.

Price: $359-419.99

What makes this different from any other wagon?

The two big things that make the Keenz a “stroller wagon” and not just any old utility wagon: two five-point harnesses and the ability to push AND pull. Your average utility wagon, from say Costco, is not meant to carry kids, so it does not have the proper safety harnesses. On top of that, you can’t push a utility wagon, which can make navigating around crowded areas awkward and exhausting. With the Keenz, you can push or pull, with equal ease.

What makes this different from any other double stroller?

Well, storage, for one. Our double stroller has very little storage, and it’s hard to access when both kids are inside. Comfort, however, has to be the big one. Neither of my kids is too fond of riding in strollers. In the Keenz, they can look and see in all directions, which helps them feel involved and keeps them staying put. And while the Sit N Stand is nice, neither seat is exactly plush. Also, long days often mean napping on-the-go, and most compact double strollers don’t really allow for that, especially for our almost-four-year-old who still naps, but is the size of a baby dolphin. The Keenz allows for a large, comfortable place for both kids to sit and lay down.

How much stuff can you really carry with two kids inside?

Fully loaded and ready to roll.

Well, depending on the size of your kids, a lot! We took it out for a test spin at a local historical farm, packing it full of everything we might bring to a long day at an amusement park. Even with sweatshirts, snacks, fully-stocked diaper bag, and other random kid items, we had room to spare. Soft items can easily be placed in-between kids, and since it has handlebars on both sides, you can easily hang your diaper bag opposite you, so it’s accessible, but out of the way.

How big is it?

Left: Keenz, Right: Baby Trend

I’m not going to bore you with dimensions (when is that really helpful?), so I’ll say, it’s almost exactly the same size as our Baby Trend Sit N Stand Ultra double stroller. It’s a little less than thirty pounds, so even little ‘ole me can lift it in and out of the car. Folded up, it can fit in the trunk of my Odyssey, without folding the seats down and with room to spare.

What does it come with?

The Keenz comes standard with a plethora of great accessories, including:

  • Canopy (SO easy to put on!)
  • Cup holder (real talk: it needs like six more)
  • Cooler bag
  • Drop-down storage and pockets
  • Drop-down sunshades

So, should I buy one?

Yes! I actually really love this hybrid freak of a product and I have to tell you, it gets a lot of attention when we’re out. Parents will stop us left and right to ask about it, and I have nothing but good things to say!
